SUMMARY:

Melrose Apartments is a garden style building with common entrances and stairways, which provide access to apartments on each floor. The building contains 33 units in total with 12 one-bedroom apartments and 21 studio/efficiency apartments. Each one-bedroom unit is approximately 600 square feet in size and each studio is approximately 500 square feet in size. A laundry room and utility room are located on the lower level.

The complex was built in 1962 with concrete foundations and brick over block construction with a 3-tab dimensional shingle roof, installed in 2009. The front entry doors have aluminum frames with plate glass, while rear doors and interior doors are double insulated steel doors. Gas lines to street and meters have been replaced in 2009. The building is heated with gas forced air furnaces and each unit is equipped with through the wall air conditioners with sleeves. Each unit is equipped with 30-gallon gas fired hot water tank. Plumbing supply lines and lighting fixtures have been replaced in 2009. The buildings are well lighted and have ample parking.
